Dog-Friendly Things To Do in Dubai: Parks, Beaches & Activities

Dubai has more dog-friendly destinations than most people expect, but finding them requires knowing where to look. The city has invested in dedicated dog parks, and a handful of beach areas now have pet-designated zones. Here's the definitive guide.

Parks & Dog Runs

Mushrif Park Dog Area

Dubai's most popular dedicated dog park, a large fenced off-leash area set within Mushrif Park's broader grounds. Hugely popular with the city's expatriate dog community, particularly in the cooler months. Open daily, with an entry fee for the park. Dogs must be vaccinated and the area is well-maintained with water stations throughout.

Zabeel Park

One of Dubai's best urban parks, with 47 hectares of landscaped gardens, a lake, jogging tracks and open lawns. Dogs on lead throughout. Best visited in the evening, when temperatures are bearable and the park's fountains and lighting create a genuinely pleasant atmosphere.

Al Barsha Pond Park

A well-maintained park in the heart of Al Barsha with a large pond, cycling track and dog-friendly areas. Popular with families and dog owners in the morning and evening. The surrounding neighbourhood has pavements and shade for walking.

Beaches

Kite Beach (Pet Zone)

Kite Beach has a designated dog-friendly section, one of the few places in Dubai where dogs can access the beach. Go early morning before the beach fills with other users, and bring plenty of water. The adjacent boardwalk is also accessible for dogs on leads.

Jumeirah Beach (North End)

The northern sections of Jumeirah Beach are generally more dog-tolerant than the busier central sections. Early morning access with well-behaved dogs on leads is generally accepted, though this is not an officially designated dog beach. Check current Dubai Municipality guidelines before visiting.

Desert & Beyond

Al Qudra Lakes

A series of man-made lakes in the desert south of Dubai, surrounded by flamingos and migratory birds. Best visited at sunrise or sunset, when the golden light on the desert and water is extraordinary. Dogs on leads, and carry significant quantities of water for both you and your pet. Avoid entirely in summer.
