Pet-Friendly Stays in Dubai and the UAE: What to Check Before Booking

Choose accommodation in Dubai and the UAE around the animal you are bringing, not the words “pet friendly” alone. A dog-only package, a size limit or a rule against leaving pets unattended can change whether a hotel works for an international arrival.

A starting point to check directly

voco Dubai The Palm: The official policy permits one dog or cat per room up to 20 kg, with a charge. Pets are not permitted on the hotel beach or at the pool.

Atlantis The Palm’s FAQ says pets are not permitted in the hotel or grounds. Do not include it in a pet-friendly shortlist based on an old recommendation.

Send these details before you book

• Species, breed, weight and number of pets.
• Arrival time and whether inspection or quarantine could affect check-in.
• Required room type, pet fee, refundable deposit and cleaning charges.
• Rules for leaving the pet alone, housekeeping, lifts, dining and outdoor space.
• Nearby permitted toileting areas and whether the transfer vehicle accepts the pet.

Make the first night easy

Keep the first day flexible after border clearance. Bring familiar bedding and arrange a quiet space; for a cat, confirm a secure room and litter facilities. A property’s pet policy does not establish that nearby beaches, gardens or restaurant interiors also permit pets.

Policies can change and packages may apply only to selected rooms. Save the hotel’s written confirmation with your reservation. The examples above are a starting point, not a ranking or a guarantee of availability.
