Pet-Friendly UK Stays: London, Edinburgh and the Scottish Countryside

A useful UK stay starts with your route: London for a charter connection, Edinburgh for a city visit, or the Scottish countryside for a longer break. These are different journeys, not interchangeable airport stopovers.

A useful UK stay starts with your route: London for a charter connection, Edinburgh for a city visit, or the Scottish countryside for a longer break. These are different journeys, not interchangeable airport stopovers.

London

Rosewood London (Holborn): Dogs and cats; the published policy states no pet charge. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

The Egerton House Hotel (Knightsbridge): Dedicated pet services; confirm arrangements for your animal. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

Pan Pacific London (Bishopsgate / Liverpool Street): One dog or cat up to 15 kg; published £60 cleaning fee. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

Kimpton Fitzroy London (Bloomsbury): Pet stays offered; obtain the applicable weight limit for your booking. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

Edinburgh

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh (Old Town): No published pet fee, size or breed restriction on the pet page. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

The Roseate Edinburgh (West Coates): Dogs in all guest rooms; published £20 per pet per night. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

The Balmoral (Princes Street): One dog under 20 lb as standard; larger dogs need approval. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

Kimpton Charlotte Square (New Town): Pet stays offered; resolve size and species with the property. A useful comparison for a city stay; see the detailed city guide for the practical trade-offs.

Gleneagles — a separate countryside stay

For a break in Perthshire, Gleneagles welcomes dogs in the main hotel under its published policy, with a nightly dog charge. This is the country estate, not Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh. Compare it for a holiday or longer pause, not as a convenient overnight before a London charter.

Choose for the whole journey

If your final flight departs London, finish your sightseeing before the agreed UK veterinary schedule. Moving hotels during timed pre-export preparations can make an otherwise simple plan harder.

Use the city guides for room policies and practical differences: London / Edinburgh.

A larger room is useful only if the property accepts your particular pet. Send the species, count and weights with the reservation request and ask for the full stay price, including pet charges. For cats, prioritise secure windows, housekeeping arrangements and space for a litter tray; for dogs, identify a practical toilet route before arrival.
