Choose accommodation in the USA around the animal you are bringing, not the words “pet friendly” alone. A dog-only package, a size limit or a rule against leaving pets unattended can change whether a hotel works for an international arrival.

La Quinta by Wyndham: Policies vary by property. Optional pet fees and property-specific limits mean it is inaccurate to promise that every La Quinta stay is free for pets.

Send these details before you book

• Species, breed, weight and number of pets.
• Arrival time and whether inspection or quarantine could affect check-in.
• Required room type, pet fee, refundable deposit and cleaning charges.
• Rules for leaving the pet alone, housekeeping, lifts, dining and outdoor space.
